Commissioned in March 2023, equipped with two horizontal axis Pelton turbines, Makarigad enhanced Lakdhanavi's experience and expertise as an EPC contractor who is able to develop projects under challenging terrains and environmental conditions. The project firmly established Lakdhanavi as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Nepal paving way for future capacity expansions to harness the vast hydro resources available in Nepal to meet both domestic and export demand for pelectricity.
