Established in the year 1996, Lakdhanavi holds over 25 years of unparalleled expertise and extensive experience in providing power plant solutions. As the power plant experts in the industry, we take pride in our role as pioneers in IPP, EPC contractor, and O&M contractor services for expansive thermal and renewable power plants. Our established presence not only extends within Sri Lanka but also across global markets such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives, and Oman. Lakdhanavi has successfully engineered, constructed, and is operating thermal power plants utilising diverse technologies, including reciprocating engines, combined cycle systems, and liquid fuel solutions. Additionally, our proficiency extends to renewable power plants, including hydro, solar and wind installations.

Leveraging our robust technical team of over 300 professionals, Lakdhanavi possesses the capability to manage the entire spectrum of tasks involved in the construction and operation of large, multidimensional power plants. This spans the entire process, from initial bidding and design to procurement, construction, commissioning, and ongoing operation and maintenance.

OUR JOURNEY

INSIGHT INTO LAKDHANAVI LIMITED

Since its inception in 1997, Lakdhanavi has been on a transformative journey. With over 25 years of experience, we have grown and expanded into a global leader in power solutions.

1997

Lakdhanavi Limited commenced business as Sri Lanka’s first IPP by commissioning a 24 MW medium speed diesel power plant.

2003

Lakdhanavi Limited along with Hemas Holdings PLC secured a 100 MW thermal power project.

Commenced work on the 4 MW mini hydropower plant - Assupiniella.

2007

Commenced work on the largest thermal power plant in Sri Lanka at the time - Yugadhanavi, 300 MW combined cycle power plant in which Lakdhanavi is a minority investor, EPC and O&M Contractor.

2010

Entry into Bangladesh - via participation in international tender for IPP thermal power plants.

2013

Commissioned the 52 MW HFO power plant (Raj Lanka) in Rajshahi, Bangladesh in which Lakdhanavi is the sponsor, EPC and O&M Contractor.

Commissioned the 10MW wind power plant - Pawandhanavi, one of the first wind farms in Sri Lanka in which Lakdhanavi is the EPC and O&M contractor.

2014

Commissioned the 52 MW dual fuel power plant (Lakdhanavi Bangla) in Comilla, Bangladesh in which it was the sponsor, EPC and O&M Contractor.

2017

Commissioned a new 10 MW power plant in the Maldives where Lakdhanavi Limited was the EPC for STELCO under an ADB financed project.

2019

Commissioned the 114 MW HFO power plant (Feni Lanka) in Feni, Bangladesh. This is Lakdhanavi Limited's largest project in Bangladesh to date, and Lakdhanavi is the sponsor, EPC, and O&M contractor of this project.

2021

Commenced construction for a 350 MW combined cycle power plant ( Sobadhanavi) - Expected to be Sri Lanka’s first LNG fired power plant and Lakdhanavi is the sponsor, EPC and O&M Contractor of this project.

2023

Maiden entry to Nepal with successful completion of the EPC contract for the 10MW hydropower plant Makarigad.

Awarded the 100MW Siyambalanduwa solar project, the first large scale ground mounted solar project to be undertaken in Sri Lanka, in which Lakdhanavi is the lead consortium member and joint EPC and O&M contractor.
