Lakdhanavi was a pioneer in establishing mini hydro power plants in Sri Lanka which enabled the country to fully utilise available hydro reasources for power generation. Commissioned in May 2002, this plant is powered by two WKV turbo units.
Lakdhanavi is currently undertaking the Operations and Maintenance activities of the power plant under the long term O&M Contract signed upto the SPPA expiry in December 2038.
